Writing Resolutions

I haven’t made many resolutions this year, and usually I’m full of them.

I did make some big promises to myself about my writing this year, though.

First, I had a little chat with my husband, explaining that he cannot expect that I’ll be the fabulous home manager that I have been in the past because I will be busy writing. He asked if he was going to have to do work around the house and I just nodded. Now that he’s working from home that’s not such a big problem.

There is the problem of both of us working and not very available for the (homeschooled) kids during the day, so here’s my plan: I’ll write or edit from 4 to 9 am, be mom and housewife from 9 to 5, and then read or do research or whatever from 5 to 9.

And what will I be writing and editing? I’m finishing The Waste before the end of January. After that I’ll be rewriting my paranormal mystery from scratch. I’ve also got a really great idea for a steampunk novel that I can write toward the end of the year. Also, there’s the write1sub1 project throughout the year.

I’ll need the 9 hours a day to work so I can get it all done this year.

  • All I can say to this piece is, “Wow!.”
I’ve read your blog and you give me courage.

  • P’shaw!

I feel like I’m kind of lazy and like I could be busier if I wanted to…I think it’s because all this work is sitting down work, so it doesn’t seem physically hard.

Keep up your own good work, Louise!
